Why is Gore against homeschooling?

Question:
Why is Gore against homeschooling? I haven't been following it.

Answer:
-Gore's a democrat. (I've been one all my life, but I'm getting fed up.) The democrats are very deeply tied to the NEA. They also have a longstanding, highly commendable, but ultimately ungainly and flawed idea that government is responsible for the salvation of children, and that parents can't be trusted to raise their own children without very close scrutiny, supervision, or downright forcible control.

At least, that's why *I* think Gore does not support homeschooling. -I don't think that Gore is against homeschoolling per se. He does feel , as many politicians do, and as I agree, that there needs to be "accountability". Unfortunately Gore's version of accountability for homeschoolers is to have their choice of curricula supervised, and to have regular tests given and scores submitted. Gore has fallen into the beurocratic trap of believing that the only way to ensure that a child has learned something is to give a test. Further he seems to believe that the more tests are given the more a child will learn.

IMO Gore is most certianly against child-led learning. He would further be opposed to the style of homeschooling which states that tests are not necessary and that letter/number grades do not truly reflect what a child has learned.
