Any homeschoolers in North Central Arkansas?

Question:
My family and I are looking into relocating to the Mountain View area of Arkansas. I am currently homeschooling our 10yr old son for the first time. Our 14yr old daughter is in public school. When/if we relocate to Arkansas, I would like to continue to homeschool my son and hopefully my daughter. Can anyone tell me about the requirements for homeschooling in Arkansas? Are the kids required to submit to state standardized testing? What is the attitude towards homeschoolers? However, we are having a hard time at homeschooling so I am really trying to keep our options open. Our biggest problem seems to be establishing a routine and getting the assignments done on a daily basis. My son gets easily frustrated and expects to be able to get the work done with as little effort as possible. The tensions between us can be very high! Our daughter is more studious and enjoys "schoolwork" and I think she would be a better influence on him if she were homeschooling also, but at the moment she wants to remain in ps and is doing fine, as long as she puts the effort into her work. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post and any advice or information on Arkansas will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
Welcome to the 3rd largest school district in the state! Put together, homeschoolers are bigger than everyone except Little Rock and Texarkana. You must fill out a paper at the beginning of each year saying you will not hold the state responsible for your child's education. They then say "good luck, godspeed, get out of our hair." Stanford nine at 5th grade, 7th and 10th grade That's it. Very lenient. Homeschoolers are so common, nobody notices. This is the South. If you're white, you go to private school (aka segregation academies). If you're gifted, you're homeschooled. Of course, being so far into the Bible belt, we do get our share of "scary religious people" homeschooling: the Lindvollians with their complete, total control, and the _Growing Kids God's Way_ers who don't want the schools asking nosy questions about the welts. Word of caution: North Central AR has a very active white racist population. If you find this is a drawback, be prepared and forwarned
