homeschooling help requested

Question:
I am a homeschooling mother of seven and four year old boys. We will be doing a unit study on
horses in the late spring (In Alaska not much happens in the equestrian world till the snow is off
the ground). I will be investing in a few selected resources for this study and would appreciate any
suggestions as to resources appropriate for teaching children about horses as animals and about
the equestrian sports. We will be covering topics such as anatomy, safety, different breeds, history
of horses, uses (farming, sports, work, etc.) We have access to stables here and plan to do some
field trips and attend some equestrian events and a rodeo in the early summer.
