alternative Catholic School

Question:
I know what I am asking is not about home-schooling but I thought you may be able to help. I realise you are looking for or have found an alternative to "mainstream" schooling. I'm looking for a Catholic school that puts a lot of emphasis on the freedom of the students and nurturing their self-discipline. Could you point me in the right direction to find such a Catholic school. I am also interested in home schooling and have a good friend who home-schools three children. I may be able to arrange for her children to e-mail your children if you would like to leave an e-mail address.

Answer:
- We have a great alternative. Laurel Springs School has had about 20 years experience with a more creative and open curriculum. This year they are starting Mother of Divine Grace Academy. It is Catholic. It is less structured and more interesting than the usual rigorous Catholic homeschool programs. I have homeschooled for 12 years and used my Catholic books and the Laurel Springs approach. Iım thrilled with this new school. It is headed up by Laura Berquist who has homeschooled her 6 children for 11 years. Over the years she has built a through Catholic and academic program with a dynamic book list to pick and choose from, to the tastes and talents of your children. There is a video you can get by writing to: Creative Homeschool Videos 22255 Needles St. Chatsworth, Ca. 91311 Send $13.95 for the video and $3.95 for shipping and you will get the video plus a brochure and some articles on homeschooling.
