Anyone here an actual homeschool child?

Question:
Was reading all the posts tonight and had to ask a question. Please, if you would, tell me if any of the people here are homeschool children who are now homeschooling their children. My reason of asking is after reading the posts and being a homeschool child, I wonder if there is a balance of what happens from one side (the adult) to the other (the child) in a homeschooling situation. A friend of mine and I (we met as adults) were discussing this and we both had very simular opinions on homeschooling and our children.

Answer:
- I was a homeschooled child who is now homeschooling his children. Not quite sure what you mean here. Of course, I haven't finished my first cup of coffee yet. I am pretty sure that *being* homeschooled would make a difference in how you *perceive* homeschooling for your children. A major difference would be in how the experience was for you. I am the oldest of three children. For me the homeschool experience was better than for my sisters. Quite frankly, my parents did not require my sisters to learn as much as they required me to. It was as if they had "run out of steam", so to speak. As a result, my two sisters view homeschooling in a much less positive light. The one sister who had children sent them to public school. But as I said, my experience was a better one. I also have tried to recognize where my parents made mistakes so I can avoid them. But I have learned that I still make plenty of my own mistakes! Still, I can say that my children are proud to be homeschooled and they love to learn.
