New Homeschool Mom

Question:
I would appreciate any advice and direction on homeschooling my 9 and 12 year
old boys. I was thinking of starting out with the packaged cirriculum but am
very interested in learning with CD on computer. Any advice on working with
two boys together would be great too. anybody tell me?
Answer:
I have an almost 11yo boy who has never been to school. I have never
used a packaged curriculum because it would never exactly match my
boy. He would be way ahead in somethings, behind in others, and he
would hate the structure.
I presume your boys are coming out of school and into homeschool. You
do NOT have to do things the same way as the schools do. That is the
joy of homeschooling. I think I would start out by going to the
library, get piles of great books on anything they are interested in,
come home and enjoy.
