HomeSchool Reading List

Question:
I have seen many references on-line to read different books on the subject of homeschooling, but often the title is omitted, or only the last name of the author is given. I would like to read several of these books, but I can't request them through the local library since there is nothing in the card catalog. I need the title and the author in order to place a hold on a library book or to order through a bookstore. What do you consider to be "essential" reading for a beginner homeschooler?

Answer:
- I think one of the first books a beginner homeschooler should read is "The Successful Homeschool Family" by Dr. Raymond and Dorothy Moore. I had been homeschooling for 5 years before I found it, wish it had come sooner, I feel much more relaxed about how my kids are learning now. You can order this book directly from the Moore Foundation, Box 1, Camas, WA 98607. 360-835-2736. The price is $11.00 plus 25% for shippping and handling.
