Louisiana home schooling

Question:
I have seriously considered homeschooling my 8 year old 3rd grader but
now find that i most probably need to make a very quick decision based
on the negative events taking place this year in her Catholic private
school. (huge class sizes, insensitive teachers, etc.) I would really
appreciate some input on curriculum, where to start..web sites..
networking with other area homeschool families..positives and negatives
of hs. I have an appointment monday morning with the local public
school official who will authorize me to do the hs and who
coincidentally agrees with our decision. I need information and lots of
it. any resources out there would be greatly appreciated. what are
your experiences?
Answer: -An excellent starting point is The Teaching Home ( www.teachinghome.com ).
You can find a taste of the types of articles/insights that they offer, as
well as the address and phone number of local hs organizations for your
area. I'd encourage you to contact a local organization - helpful in
dealing with local regulation issues.
-I came across this site only this last week -- perhaps it will help you.
It's the Louisiana Home Education Network
